In this contribution, Art Tavana explores Tarantino’s punk ethos in Kill Bill, Vol 1 and Kill Bill, Vol. 2 to argue that Vol. 1 is a joyfully punk distillation of Tarantino’s core gestures as a filmmaker: excess, repetition, pastiche, exploitation, and provocation.
